Union Station Homeless Services – Thanksgiving Turkey Prep/Cook

Org. Description: Union Station Homeless Services is part of a premier group of human
services agencies in Los Angeles County that are leading the way to ending
homelessness in our community. We are the San Gabriel Valley’s largest social service
agency assisting homeless and very low-income adults and families.
Job Description: Volunteers in this role will be responsible for helping our kitchen staff
and the staff at Centerplate in preparing turkeys in their commercial kitchen! Please visit our website to learn more about our annual Thanksgiving event “Dinner in

Volunteers must create a “volunteer profile” with us in order to sign up for a shift. You
can create a volunteer profile on our website as well. Once you create a volunteer
profile with us, The Volunteer Management team will approve your application and you
will be able to sign up for any volunteer shift!
Please note that there is an age requirement for volunteering in the kitchen. Volunteers
must be at least 16 years old. We ask that you please wear closed toed shoes and long
pants for your safety and protection.
**Volunteers will be required to wear a surgical grade mask or higher (not cloth). If
you do not have a surgical mask, Union Station Homeless Services will be able to
provide you one upon arrival to your volunteer shift. All volunteers serving food
directly to clients must wear a face shield (provided by Union Station). Additionally, all
volunteers must read and acknowledge a COVID liability waiver onsite.
