Have you ever wanted to make a difference but didn’t know how? Inner City Law Center’s Homeful.LA has partnered with Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, Mayor Eric Garcetti’s Office, Los Angeles County Homelessness Initiative, United Way’s Everyone In Campaign and Los Angeles Unified School District to bring you opportunities to get engaged, inspired and educated about homelessness crisis. The weekend will feature donation drives, speakers, shelter and permanent supportive housing tours, as well as information about the amazing organizations that you can plug into in your area. The entire county will be focused on being of service this weekend. Be sure to save the date and sign up to volunteer in your neighborhood.
Schedule a service project for your group of 5 or more. Service Days can look like an internal donation drive where we link you up with a coach to walk you through the process and have lunch. For groups of 10 or more we can have an expert present to your group about homelessness in LA County. We can also arrange for your group to participate in direct service projects such as food service, beautification and cleaning projects, ongoing tutoring, childcare, professional coaching or mentoring, and donation sorting at an amazing direct service provider location near you. To schedule a service day please email Erin Thompson at firstname.lastname@example.org at least 1 month prior to your desired date.
Do It Yourself
Two simple ways to get started making a difference in your community right away are to make hygiene kits and back-to-school supplies, which we find most direct service providers need on a regular basis. You can download instructions to assemble these kits below. After assembling the kits with your group, you can contact us to identify a worthy organization that could use the kits or supplies in your area. Feel free to contact Erin at email@example.com for coaching to make this effort a huge success.
